Aligned with the objectives of the Environment Education Programme (EEP) under the Environment Education, Awareness, Research and Skill Development
(EEARSD) scheme, CMS VATAVARAN and the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) collaborated to implement initiatives in Punjab, supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). This programme aimed to supplement formal education by imparting non-formal environment education to children and youth, motivating them to adopt sustainable lifestyles, integrating knowledge dissemination, experiential learning, and behavioural change strategies.
The programme provides children and youth with the opportunities to participate in hands-on activities designed to develop their scientific temper, critical thinking, creativity, and nurture values like compassion and empathy, while strengthening their understanding of sustainable solutions. It fosters a collaborative ecosystem where participants emerge as stewards and leaders for environmental conservation.
