CMS VATAVARAN in collaboration with IUCN Commission on Education and Communication (CEC) organized the first Film Festival & Forum on LiFE (Lifestyle For Environment) in the state of Goa scheduled from 5th -7th March 2023 at ESG Auditorium, Goa. #NatureForAll, Wildlife Trust of India, Video volunteers,BITS Pilani Goa Campus, Vidnyan Parishad, Goa & The Assagao Mehfil also supported this program.
The Film Festival & Forum on LiFE in Goa. The inaugural ceremony was inaugurated by the honourable CM of Goa, Shri. Pramod Sawant along with a musical concert by some of the most prominent artists in around Goa followed by 2 days of film festival & Forum including several interesting programs like film screenings, Panel discussions and MOJO Film making workshop focusing on using smartphones as a tool for Environment education, enhancing the role of youth in conservation and other aspects of environment & conservation.
The film screenings on 6th March and 7th March 2023 was followed by a thematic panel discussion. Screening of films and panel discussions were divided into four themes which were “Marine Conservation,” “youth engagement in Climate change Mitigation”, “Water, Sanitation and sustainable lifestyle for building resilient cities” and “Nature conservation for Climate Action” with open forum discussions with experts and regional filmmakers done. All four panels consisted of experts from the relevant areas, including educators, policymakers, and representatives from IUCN CEC.
The film screening and the panel discussion provided an opportunity to hear from experts in the field from around the globe, engage in thought-provoking discussions, and exchange ideas on how we can work together to address the challenge of climate change.
