Aesthetica Short Film Festival

The BAFTA Qualifying ASFF: Aesthetica Short Film Festival is a celebration of independent film from across the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing short filmmaking. One of the UK's most exciting site-specific events, this year's festival will take place in 15 unique venues across the historic city of York from 6 - 9 November 2014.

The films span a diverse range of genres and filmic styles: advertising, animation, artists' film, comedy, documentary, drama, experimental, fashion, music video and thriller.

There will also be a series of master classes and workshops with leading industry figures from BAFTA, Channel 4, Ridley Scott Associates and many more, plus evening events and an awards ceremony. There will also be special screenings from Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur and official selections from guest countries: Iraq, Japan and Lebanon.

7th Ya'an International Animal & Nature Film Week!

SKYS (Beijing) International Culture Communication Co Ltd, Beijing, China has invited CMS to attend 7th Ya'an International Animal & Nature Film Week scheduled from Oct 18-24, 2014 at Ya'an, Sichuan Province and also screen its best of CMS VATAVARAN films on the theme animal and nature as part of this programme.

ICICI Bank has joined hands with CMS as the India Principal Partner

We are glad to announce that ICICI Bank has joined hands with CMS as the India Principal Partner of 6th travelling edition of CMS VATAVARAN in 5 cities across India (Agra, Amritsar, Gangtok, Puducherry and Raipur).

The 2014 travelling festival theme is mainstreaming biodiversity conservation at different levels to promote living in harmony with nature, which is significant in the context of 11th Conference of Parties (CoP-11) to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) held at Hyderabad, India in October 2012 and UN Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020. The festival highlights includes Inauguration by the Head of the State/ UT followed by felicitation of Green Ambassadors from the state, Film Screenings, a Panel Discussion on Biodiversity Conservation, Biodiversity Quiz and Green Filmmaking Workshop.

The festival offers a great platform to partners to reach out to people and take up environmental concerns in a manner which is understood by all. The festival and forum will be attended by individuals, filmmakers, conservationists, government officials, corporates, scientific institutions, media, civil society organisations, schools, colleges, universities, defence & paramilitary forces, community groups and under-privileged & special children.

Puducherry - Auroville CMS VATAVARAN

The 6th travelling festival series will begin with Puducherry - Auroville CMS VATAVARAN scheduled from Oct 07 - 12, 2014 (Tue - Sun). Puducherry Forest Department is supporting the festival as the State Principal Partner, Pondicherry University (Department of Ecology & Environmental Science) as the Knowledge Partner and Auroville Film Festival and PondyCAN! are partnering with CMS as the Organising Partners.

Ms Priya Talwar (Head Programmes) and Mr Sundeep C Srivastav (Head Coordination) from CMS VATAVARAN team undertook a recci visit to Puducherry from July 29 - August 01, 2014. During this visit an Organising Committee Meeting was held at Puducherry Secretariat under the chairmanship of Dr V Kandavelu, Secretary - Environment, Govt of Puducherry. The meeting was moderated by Dr S Senthil Kumar, IFS, CF & CWLW, Department of Forests & Wildlife, Govt of Puducherry and attended by representatives from Puducherry Forests Department, Pollution Control Committee, Department of Science, Technology and Environment, Puducherry University (Department of Ecology & Environmental Science and Media), Auroville Film Festival and PondyCAN.

Amritsar CMS VATAVARAN

The travelling festival in Amritsar is scheduled from Nov 03 - 05, 2014. Punjab State Council for Science & Technology and Gurun Nanak Dev University (Department of Botanical and Environmental Sciences) have joined hands with CMS as the Organising Partner of Amritsar CMS VATAVARAN. Punjab Biodiversity Board will be supporting the festival as the Knowledge Partner. Mr Sundeep C Srivastav (Head Coordination - CMS VATAVARAN is visiting Chandigarh and Amritsar from Sep 09 - 13 (Tue - Fri) to discuss the festival modalities with the partner organisations.


Agra CMS VATAVARAN

CMS VATAVARAN has been invited by Society for Preservation of Healthy Environment and Ecology and Heritage of Agra (SPEEHA), Agra to organise Agra CMS VATAVARAN in November 2014. The festival in Agra will be hosted at Dayalbagh Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI). Film screenings will be organised parallel at various schools & colleges, jail campus and for religious & rural group, police & defence officials and under-privileged children.

Gangtok and Raipur CMS VATAVARAN

The schedule for Gangtok and Raipur CMS VATAVARAN will be shortly announced.

On July 06, 2014, Sunday CMS VATAVARAN screening of award winning film "Tiger Dynasty" by S Nallamuthu held at CSOI Club, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi from 11:00 am onwards. Col Rajinder Kumar, General Manager, CSOI welcomed the CMS VATAVARN team. Mr. Sundeep C Srivastav, Senior Festival Manager briefed about the CMS VATAVARAN to the audience. CMS VATAVARAN screened its 2014 Award winning Film "Dammed"

CMS VATAVARAN screened its 2014 Award winning Film "Dammed" (directed by Shri Nandan Saxena and Ms Kavita Bahl) at India Habitat Centre on May 30, 2014, Friday. This film won the Water for All Award in the Indian Section.
Documentary film lovers were present to view the film as well for the Question Answer sessions. Filmmaker Shri Nandan Saxena and Ms Kavita Bahl were present for session.
