Summary: Rajasthan desert is not an abode of desert inhabiting fauna and flora but has become a paradise for the migratory birds, demoiselle crane: Anthropoids Virgo normally called Kurja in Hindi. For last nearly a decade or so, a small peace-loving village “Khichan” is emerging as a shining planet in the migratory atlas of avian fauna of Kuraj and also in the wild-life tourist map. Covering a distance of more than 4500 km to 6000 km or so, Kurja reaches this small village in flocks from North part of Blacksea, South and West parts of the Europe, South Mexico, Australia, Poland, Moscow, Africa, Ethiopia, Somalia, Cairo, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Penninsula by the end of August and the 1st/2nd week of September.

Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Praveen Kumar Jha is working as a Producer since last eleven years. He has done BFA from Banaras Hindu University. Till date he has produced and directed approximately 300 Educational TV films and these films are being telecast on regular basis on the Doordarshan’s National Network (DD-1 & DD-Bharti) and also on ‘Educational Channel - Gyan Darshan’ under UGC-CEC CWCR programmes. He has won various National awards for the Centre.
