Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Shekar Dattatri is a multiple award winning wildlife cameraman and filmmaker with over 15 years of experience. His films have been aired worldwide over international channels such as Discovery and National Geographic. He shoots on both film and video and is based in Chennai. He has received National Award (India) for A Cooperative for Snakecatchers as a Best film on Ecology & Environment (1987), National Award (India) for Seeds of Hope as the Best Agricultural Film, 1998. His film Silent Valley – An Indian Rainforest has received National Award (India) for Best Film on Ecology and Environment, 1991, for Best Cinematography – (Non feature category), and Special Jury Award, Italy 1991, Citta de Sondrio Award, Italy 1991, Best Nature Film, Earthvision Festival, Japan 1992. Nagarhole – Tales from an Indian Jungle has received Special Jury Award in International Wildlife Film Festival, Monthana, U.S.A., 1998 and Sondrio International festival on Parks & Protected Areas in 1998, Arlette Vincent Prize in Valvert International Wildlife film Festival, Brussels in 1999.
