Summary: This is the story of  Kasaragode, Kerala known as ‘God’s Own Country’.Who are the children of Kasaragode? What is their life like? In God’s Own Country tells the story of a community that refuses to leave its ancestral home but instead stays to fight for it’s basic right to pure air and water.

Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Rajani Mani loves to work on environment and wildlife issues and on human rights issues. Has previously produced and directed Food? Health? Hope? A 30 minute documentary on transgenic crops and India’s food security which presented evidence against the multinational company Monsanto at the Permanent People’s Tribunal on Global Corporations and Human Wrongs at Warwick, 2000.

Nina Subramani worked with Student Sea Turtle Conservation Network in Chennai. Today she is committed to making films on environmental and development issues. Her films include Kalpavriksha – Legacy of the Forests, on medicinal plants and Two People One Movement comparing people’s movements in Europe and India.
