Subject Focus: Pollution control in the mining areas

Summary: Bailadila Iron Ore Project the oldest highly mechanized mine of NMDC Ltd commissioned in the year 1968. Afforestation is done not only as protective measure to control dust and noise, but also to enhance the aesthetics and to create required biodiversity, enhance infiltration. The second goal is to create wind brakes for controlling air pollution. Massive afforestation is carried out in mining lease areas, townships and on hill slopes. With its continuous environmental upgradation works, the project is moving up steadily in its competitiveness apart from maintaining sustainable development.

Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Mr. C. J. Reddy is a Cameraman, Producer and Director. He is the Managing Director of Tarangini Video Studio. Has produced and directed over 70 programmes i.e. documentary films, corporate profiles, public issue films, news features, ad films etc. to various organisations. He has received several awards in National & International Film Festivals for his films like Himalayas Calling in Torento Film Festival, Maaru Moola Prantalaku Manchi Rojulu in A.P. State Golden Nandi and Never Say Die in Cracow Film Festival and A.P. State Silver Nandi Award for Toli Velugu in 1993.
