Subject Focus: Narmada Valley Eco-system and the struggle of its communities to preserve it.

Summary: The video tries to portray the struggle of the communities who have been living on the banks of the river Narmada for centuries, and their relationship with the river, their land and forest. The film questions the notion of development, which sees the destruction of a thriving eco-system and many communities for the benefits somebody, somewhere else. The films raises pertinent questions about the destruction of natural resources from such big projects, the shabby rehabilitation and total disrespect accorded to people’s wisdom, all in the name of national development.

Producer’s/Director’s Profile: Tushar Kulkarni is a diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering.He also works as an Experimental Theater Activist in Nashik .He started working in Abhivyakti, Media For Development in the year 1998 and is working as a Production Coordinator since 2000. g
