New Delhi, November 1st, 2017 The 9th CMS VATAVARAN Film Festival and Forum on Environment & Wildlife is opening from November 2 to 6 at Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, New Delhi. The theme for this year is ‘Conservation4Water’ with a special focus on climate change and water.
The 9th competitive edition will be showcasing 113 Nominated films at the five-day film festival. The screening will be joined various eminent National and International Filmmakers.
Simultaneous programs will also be organized apart from the film screenings. Various workshops and seminars focusing on the environmental, social and economic aspects of water conservation and issues related to environment and wildlife conservation will be organized. The next five-day film screenings, filmmaking & photography workshops, discussions and award ceremony will be organized during the festival. There will be a trailer release of the first Bollywood movie on environmental issue “Kadvi Hawa” by Neela Madhab Panda during the festival. The sessions and workshops will be attended by subject experts, journalists, students and pre-registered participants. The registration is free of cost and is open to all.

Along with screening and workshops the festival will feature an Organic Green Haat to augment one’s shopping experience. Green Haat, a marketplace for forest handicrafts, folk jewelry, herbal and medicinal products and forest based organic food items will be set up at the venue for 5 days of the festival.
The Organic Green Haat in the festival will raise awareness about Green and Organic products in the country among the urban population and help them rediscover the “connect” with nature. It is organized by MoEFCC, GEF, UNDP, SGP & CEE.
