Amba Jamir
Policy Analyst, Development Advisor and Community Convener; Founder Secretary - Sustainable Development Forum Nagaland (SDFN)

A development consulting expert with over 25 years of multidisciplinary experience from policy formulation to project development and community empowerment, Amba is professionally trained as an environmental lawyer and development communicator. He is a grassroots trainer, facilitator and community convenor with experience in the Eastern Himalayas and the Asia Pacific region in the areas of education, development, livelihood, and policy advocacy. Amba works directly with policy makers, NGOs, community leaders, farmers and the poorest of the poor. He has extensive experience working in local, national and international NGOs, the government, and with advanced regional policy and research think tanks such as the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), Japan. His more recent work was organising the Sustainable Mountain Development Summit (SMDS), a meeting of the 12 Indian mountain states on India in Kohima, Nagaland to discuss mountain specific issues related to mountain states.
