The five day CMS VATAVARAN festival and CMS Environment Forum will open with an inaugural ceremony on 27th October amidst the presence of filmmakers, experts, invited guests and delegates, partners, eminent personalities and members of the public. It will set the tone for the programmes and also framework for the travelling festival in 2010. The ceremony will be followed by screening of the internationally acclaimed film "The Age of Stupid" (89 minutes) on Climate Change by Franny Armstrong. Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite (In The Name of the Father, Brassed Off) stars in the film as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, looking back at “archive” footage from 2007 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?.
